BASKET DIVERTER

Cleveland Armstrong's® Basket Diverter (BD) provides enhanced performance when compared to a single blade diverter at a very competitive cost. Its capabilities includes:
  • Zero leakage to the closed leg when applied in gravity flow dry bulk solids applications.
  • Zero leakage is attained without the use of elastomer seals greatly minimizing maintenance requirements.
  • No cross-contamination due to the elimination of pockets, crevices and ledges in the product flow surfaces.
  • Balanced Basket design for lower actuating force requirements

This unit is ideal for diverting gravity flow of materials when it is not critical to have complete sealing between legs or where cutting through a standing column of material is not required.

BASKET DIVERTER FEATURES

  • Inside the diverter housing, a "basket" is installed on a pivot shaft. This internal basket will direct the material to the discharge leg that has been selected by the position of the actuator.
  • Body material thickness - 3/16" - up to and including 24" size.
  • Basket material and throat 240 BHN AR. (Other material construction is available).
  • Two bolt flange bearings are used to support the basket.
  • Bolted door for basket removal.
  • Basket removal door consists of a lining plate, which allows a flush surface on the inside and provides alignment.
  • Gasketed and bolted access/inspection door or doors are provided where feasible.
  • Basket throat reduces in size, so that the throat discharges below the sidewalls of the "basket".
  • Important feature: The "basket" does not leak to closed leg. Also, it does not retain product except for the fugitive dust generated by the free fall of the product passing through the unit.
  • To date, we have baskets handling the following materials: *Silica sand; *Flyash; Plastic Pellets; *Zinc Dust; Soda Ash; *Cement.

We have found that you can make a "diverter tree", by stacking three (3) Offset Basket Diverters in series. With this  set-up, you can achieve a "four-point" discharge diverter. Thus, another product has been added to your PEBCO® product line. We have planted "diverter trees" in the products marked above with an asterisk.

BASKET DIVERTER BENEFITS

PEBCO® Basket Type Diverter Valves are diverter valves consisting of a flanged two-way chute, operator, and diversion basket.

The PEBCO® Basket Diverter is available in various configurations.

The Basket Diverter provides three (3) essential benefits:
  • There is no product leakage to the closed leg. This is accomplished without the use of elastomer seals. This in turn provides extremely low maintenance requirements.
  • The inlet throat, basket and outlet leg "design and interface" provides smooth flow surfaces without ledges or pockets. This eliminates material build up and possible cross contamination from carryover when shifting the diverter.
  • The balanced Basket design requires much lower actuating forces. This, in turn, reduces actuator size and minimizes energy consumption.
