ROLLING SLIDE GATE

Armstrong®'s simplest and most widely used slide gate is the
Rolling Slide Gate (RS). Features for this unit include:
- Heavy-duty structural channel
design
- Optional displacement pocket for
cutting through a standing column of material
- Majority of product contact surfaces
made of abrasion-resistant steel
- Unique seal arrangement that optimizes
both sealing and cleaning of the blade

Applications include, but are
not limited to, shutoff, flow control and maintenance gates on: bins, hoppers,
screw conveyors, belt conveyors and vibrating conveyors.

On some high
temperature applications or for use with very fine abrasive materials,
PEBCO® can supply a Slide Gate (SG) with cast iron slide
bars in place of regreaseable rollers.
Depending on gate size
and the need for rapid closure, PEBCO® offers a Dual
Bladed Rolling Slide Gate (DBRS).

Our
Rolling Slide Gate has a number of benefits. These are:
- Gate blade and seal retainers are constructed
of 240 BHN for longer wear.
- Regreaseable cam follower rollers are needle
bearings with nylon seals. These heavy-duty rollers help guide and support the
blade.
- Displacement pockets can be added to valves
cutting standing columns of material. This allows material to fall into the
flow stream rather than being compressed against the frame.
- On larger blades, we chamfer the leading edge
to assist its cutting through the material.
- Heavy-duty channel frame construction with
structural angles to avoid gate frame deformation under material loads.
- Seals along the four sides of the blade
including a wiping seal to assure better sealing of the
gate.

ROLLING SLIDE GATE WITH
PACKING
PEBCO®'s Rolling Slide Gate with Packing
(RSP), or cast iron slide bar version with packing (SGP), is suited to
situations where it is crucial to avoid internal to external material
leakage through the blade seal arrangement. Advantages of the RSP/SGP
are:
- Adjustable packing wraps around the
blade to assure no internal to external leakage
- Low head room requirement
- Ability to seal under pressure or
vacuum

PEBCO®'s Rolling Slide Gate with Packing offers the
following advantages:
- Same design features of our standard Rolling
Slide Gate.
- Instead of using our standard seal
arrangement we incorporate a packing arrangement. This isolates the front
portion of the gate from the rear section.
- Proven design on finished cement and fly
ash.
- Low headroom
requirements.
